Oh I will miss college basketball in Kentucky....this is the first March in 22 years that I have not lived in KY!)

It's funny- when Pitino came to UK, it was like the second coming of Christ. When he left to go to UL, he was immediately something smelly on the shoe for UK fans....

I think Pitino is brilliant. He worked both sides of one of the most feverish basketball states rivalries, and made lots of money doing it. Lexington had lots of fun when Pitino came to town, and so did Louisville. But it might be time for him to go on and work his magic elsewhere- he does better during the initial fever pitch of his arrival.

Coincidentally, at a restaurant tonight we ran into the surgeon who lives across the street and went to KY. He is a major KY fan and was teasing my husband about the new Gator magnet on our car. I teased him back about KY now being associated with being a jelly instead of a basketball power. Thanks, Skunky, for that line. ;-)

BTW does anyone know if the UF-UT game will be televised anywhere in SoWal on Saturday? It'll be televised here in GA, but we have Mediacom at our Seagrove home, and it's not on the Mediacom schedule. We called Shades, and their provider (DIRECTV) doesn't have it either.

BR, if you are a UK fan, you are a MAJOR fan. They don't have any other kind. You are not a minor fan and you don't "sorta" like them. You are a fan, or your not, but you don't do it halfway. It's MAJOR, it's serious and they bleed blue.
