What did the interior look like? I can't remember the name but we had a wonderful dinner in a beautiful restaurant that was originally an old home with exposed brick walls, gas lights, brick floors, etc. French cuisine I believe. I have to say tho, every restaurant just kept getting better and better each night. I've never been on a vacation where each restaurant was superb! And the views from some of the terraces overlooking the harbor lights.

Does Hotel 1882 sound right? We ate on the porch. Beautiful and romantic. Of course back then everything was romantic.

We stayed in Hotel 1882? a few times before we chartered a sailboat out of St Thomas. Nice view overlooking Charlotte Amalie and the harbor from the deck area. Rooms were very minimal though. Didn't matter - we were there just to sleep and stock supplies for the sailboat trip and the location was great.

Mafolies was still in business about 5 years ago - the last time we were in St Thomas.

Now I am gonna have to dig out all the old photo albums later.
