Almost have the boat ready for the lake! Installed the trolling motor today and charging the battery for it now...I just have to buy a bigger chisel so I can hammer out the rusted in blank that is blocking my trucks trailer hitch! lol To bad tomorrow looks like its going to be windy as all get out. Sunday looks to be a go though! If everything is groovy with the boat using the trolling motor, I am going to sink about a grand into it next week for the main outboard, new seats and trim and a new steering cable! :D

Great news! And, funn pics! Keep your oars close by.........;-)

Take video and post for us~~~~~~~

Finally got the rusted in blank stuck in my trailer hitch chiseled out! Took almost two hours...jeez! *rubs sore arm* I hooked it up and drove around the parking lot to get a feel for it. Took me 3 tries to get it parked properly again. All I have to say is I suck backing up with a trailer! lol I think I am going to go scout out the Eastern Lake boat launch now. If I recall, its pretty steep!

Yay! Finally got her on the water for about an hour today! Didn't take on any water as far as I could tell either. I can just imagine anyone living by the boat ramp and watching us try three million times to back it up properly. lol It was way too windy on the lake proper for the little electric trolling motor, so we stuck to the little inlet by the ramp. Imygyn was really nervous at first, but she stuck with me and ended up enjoying herself. I just need to get the main outboard repaired and we have an awesome summer ahead of us! :D

I so remember the days in another life when I was always the designated trailer backer upper. I sucked at it too--always. I never got the hang of it, but I was generally the most sober of the group.
Looks like you do have some funn days ahead. Happy for you!

So happy for you DTI ! Your baby girl looks excited about boating too. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon enough. I've heard people say they have no problem backing with a huge trailer/boat, but can't back a jon boat for nothing.

in my 20's, i was with one of those guys. We had been out on the boat all day and i asked him if he wanted me to back the trailer down. He looked at me and laughed and said
"baby, i hate to break it to you, but you can't back that boat trailer down here" Just a chuckling as he considered it. "But you can try if you want to". :rotfl:

I went and got the truck, backed the trailer down on the first try. SCORE! A great moment in my history.

DD... me too! I still suck at it!!! Chris always wants me to give it a try. Meanwhile 10 other people are waiting to put their boats in. NOT good! I won't do it anymore. :dunno:
