DD, I don't get her at all either - I'll start to like a song because it has a good beat, then the weird lyrics turn me off again.

DD - I saw her on Letterman before I had really heard her music or heard of her. she freaked me out a little. then I started hearing the music. and over time she has grown on me. I think she's extremely talented - and she has some mofo-ing legs that go all the way up. I like some of her music/videos with Beyonce'. in fact, I like both singers - they are very pop, and very trendy with today's music, but for some reason I really like their style. I don't think I would be thrilled with my teens listening and rocking to their music, but I guess many parents said the same about Madonna who I totally adore and admire for many reasons.
I think she's really amazing, and I think she is rather attractive in a nontraditional way. I enjoy her videos too.
My favorite is Pink - I like her music best. But, Gaga's music does remind me a lot of Madonna's and I enjoy the heck out of it. she's a bad girl and maybe its fun to listen in your car and be bad along with her for a bit.

But look on urbandictionary for a different meaning of "Poker Face." I am not judgmental about a person's sexual preferences, but the modern definition of this term might be an eye-opener for you. I didn't get it until our daughter 'splained it to me.
what? her meaning is exactly what any other use of the term is: a poker face, expressionless or hiding your emotions. I don't see anything bizarre about that, except what she said she used her poker face for - and I'm sure she is not the first to use a poker face during sex.
OMGosh I love love love her and her music. I wish I could design something for her!!! When she comes on the radio singing "Telephone" we all go crazy and start singing with her.

marketing - yes. but really I think Gaga has worked hard as hell for what she has achieved so far. we'll see how she does. I wish her the best.

I celebrated a friend's birthday the other night and we had the BEST time dancing to the music of Rolling Stones (beast of burden) and Black eyed Peas, and lots of other fun stuff.. the very best music is whatever makes you feel like dancing with your buds.

Lady Gaga doesn't have nearly the vocal abilities of Streisand,,,, and remember that Streisand's voice was used frequently in movie soundtracks.
Like her not, like SC says- marketing genius. I never felt Madonna had a good singing voice, either. She was originally a dancer who was smart enough to "meet" the right people and use a poker face.
