Obviously, Local, you have never attended a meeting. We have had Black Americans attend on several occasions. I no longer attend meetings as the South Walton Tea Party folded and I won't drive to DeFuniak Springs so I don't know if the Black member is still attending or not.

I once met a white Democrat, but that was years ago. I'm not sure if he is still a Democrat.

This reminds me of that Dave Chappelle routine where he plays a blind black KKK member int the deep South who doesn't who doesn't know he's black.

...I think they are in for a rude awakening when they see how much power, with the stroke of a pen, that this president really has.

Not taking sides, but I think it bears a look to see what the perception will be once bills start coming out of Congress that get killed with the pen. Two ways to look at everything. Loads have said that the Republicans were the obstructionists, but if the Pres kills everything that comes across his desk, that perception is very likely to change.

Bill Clinton figured it out after he lost control. He came back to the center a bit and got a lot done in the back end of his term. Not sure that's going to happen here.

So this amazing movement that will carry on for decades has already folded? I'm shocked, no really.

Considering what the Republicans are likely to come up up with, I sure hope the President is considered obstructionist. If it's something reasonable then I hope that the Pres is willing to compromise. I have serious doubts that the GOP is going to be reasonable, but we'll see. [edit] Back in Clinton's day, the right was relatively reasonable when it came to policy. The only visceral hatred they had for Bill was due to his penis, not his mere existence.

There will surely be the vendetta agenda for a few months. Clinton went to the center fairly quickly and was productive..cautiously optimistic.

Clinton was way more centrist from the start than Obama could ever hope to be. Never forget, Clinton did manage to govern in Arkansas.

Liberals aren't going to change conservative minds and vice versa. Some of us believe in the separation of powers and limited government and following that concept should apply to both Democrats and Republicans. Obama seems determined to undermine the separation of powers. His administration has demonstrated that by ignoring congressional subpoenas and the president's illegal appointments in the NLRB. I believe he really sees himself as King Barack Hussein. Some of his cheerleaders seem to be OK with letting him be King.

The GOP slogan should be "I was for it until Obama was for it. I was against it, until Obama was against it". It wasn't like that with Clinton.

I'm sure that fits into your nice predisposition about the right. The reason the right doesn't like Obama is that he is so far left. Of course, many of you attribute that not liking him racism, because you can't wrap your brains around the fact that not everyone else agrees with your enlightened leader.
