I really thought somebody would have posted this earlier today, but since it hasn't been, thought I'd chime in.

Ironic how Kim Jung-il (sp.?) crossed country lines and abducted these two ladies, THEN geared up his nuclear missiles. Interesting that the two ladies are American (Asian descent) and work for Al Gore, former VP and Pres. candidate of US.

I cannot imagine we will allow this to go on too much longer, but I also don't see a military intervention arising from this, which is exactly what N. Korea is wanting.

Who do we send? I hope not Al Gore....nice man, but I think we need someone experienced in international negotiations with crazy people.

Interviewed Richardson this morning on TODAY Show. Sounds like he possibly could be sent again to negotiate.

It reminds me of Iran taking Iranian-American journalist Roxana Saberi hostage several months ago on "espionage" charges, ironically when Iran wanted to flex their nuclear threat muscle and bargain over issues in an effort to dodge the issue of engaging with the new U.S. administration over the nuke issue.

The dictator is testing this adminstration as he tests them all. The president is quickly finding out that foreign policy is a bit more difficult when your actually in the oval office and not back-benching from the campaign trail. The worlds tyrant will continue to be a thorn in the worlds side. Only china will have the realistic ability of putting this man down once japan decides to go nuclear and refugee's in large quantities start flooding its borders. The military option, unfortunately will likely not be the solution....short term anyway. Its a tad different than fighting say the iraqi military....

I actually think Hillary Clinton would be a strong negotiator.

These hostage situations always tug at my heart..... I want those girls safe on American soil, but we need to be strong against tyrants like this as well. How do we balance that effectively and sternly?

How do we get another Country to acknowledge due process of handling international "criminals" when we have the blight of Guantanamo Bay?

agree, and yes it is a tightrope. I am confident that the Obama administration won't "shoot from the hip" on this though.

Which part of their unclear arrest location, being held for unspecified "hostile acts," vague formal charges, trials closed to the public, and their internment in a prison camp do you feel is an unfair comparison to Guantanamo?
