Which part of their unclear arrest location, being held for unspecified "hostile acts," vague formal charges, trials closed to the public, and their internment in a prison camp do you feel is an unfair comparison to Guantanamo?

Guantanamo Bay has had its issues. Waterboarding ceased a few years ago. (I am not for torture in any camp.)

We can discuss Quantanamo as I think it is vital to improvements in the American system.

However, the detainees are apples to oranges. These girls were not and are not terrorists out to harm anyone, but as journalists (American Journalists) love freedom and were reporting on their findings.

I think this report (when we do have them safe on American soil), will open many of the worlds' eyes. Or, maybe the world really does see, but just enjoys bashing America.....what a pity!

So, they're not trying to subvert laws or undermine the recognized government, they're "freedom fighters".

I'm not saying it's exactly the same situation, just that Mango's comment about us not having the moral high ground because of Gitmo was spot on.

I think it was National Geographic that recently did a story about conditions in N. Korea and what people go through trying to leave there. It's a human rights problem of major proportions that affects not just the neighboring countries, but the entire world.

I don't think they are freedom fighters. I think they love their jobs for Al Gore and report their findings as American Journalists.

From what I understand, they did not cross into N. Korea, but N. Korea crossed and abducted them. Their words against Kim Jung il - however, it's apples to oranges.
