Just got an update on the news, the rescue is not going to take place until 7:00 in the morning. Hope the manatee survives until the morning. The river level has risen and has spilled colder water over into the Wolf River Harbor which is warmer and is where the manatee is. Apparently maybe they have finally arrived. Turned the news on too late and missed the first couple of minutes of the story. Hope someone from Sea World will stay out there on a boat all night keeping an eye on the manatee. All it would take is a spotlight and a Harbor Patrol boat has been staying nearby. I put this tar on here about 4 months ago, I understand now animated tars cannot be uploaded, is this true?[/quote]

Where the Mississippi flows
Sea World is here, and with a big truck and a manatee rescue boat. Arrived a day early. Apparently they are going to try a land rescue possibly. They have assessed the condition and think it is in fair shape and will stay put in the warmer water. It got close to getting away into the river earlier today but came back into the harbor and is now surrounded by two barges and is confined in a small pool area. It will be on it's way back home to Florida hopefully sometime tomorrow and will be kept at Sea World until it has recuperated and is able to be released. Hope things go well! :clap_1:

Oh well, not worried about them. More concerned for the manatee. No media is being allowed in the area during the rescue process. Unfortunately, no one monitored the manatee overnight like I thought they would. Now they will have to relocate the manatee, hope it didn't succumb to the cold water overnight, and herd it back toward the harbor water they are saying. Where they attempt the rescue as to location will determine how the rescue will be performed. They are going to either use a boat that submerges underwater and come up under the manatee and corral it that way or use a stretcher if they can get it back into the shallow harbor water without it escaping back into the Mississippi River. Tricky situation. It is not going to be above the low to mid 50's today and there has been a steady rain since yesterday afternoon.

That's the trouble with the Lounge. All this riffraff posting all the time!

I'm very concerned about this lost manatee but at the same time, I'd rather lose a manatee than loose my marbles.
