I'm bettin' an asteriod, or meteor, alien invasion, or some other "phenomenon" will cease our existence before global warming does....just like global warming, these threats exist as well (I believe in everything, except selfless politicians). Just in case, I'm starting construction on my own solar-powered, air conditioned, ark!

The bad news: we're doomed to live until we die.....

The good news: while we wait, at least we get our piece of Paradise!!!

Effect of GW on economy ...

Global warming will have no real effect, positive or negative, on economic activities such as manufacturing, retailing, wholesaling, banking, education and the majority of other businesses that are unrelated to cold weather. Of course cold weather activities, such as snow-sports, would be negatively affected.

I'm skeptical of any unproven scientific theories in which the only conclusion is a global tax...especially when the ring leader is a Partner in a company that stands to gain significantly once the scam has been executed. On a side note I'd like to personally invite all of the blind followers of GW to a poker game.

I'm with you.....I'm skeptical, though not blind to the possibility that man-made GW has some impact in us. It is the lemming-like followers of everything "they" say (whoever they are) that scare me! The good news is that, if we eat more beef, demand shorter speeches by blow-hard politicians and the "outer fringe" that tout "theories" as truth, and not drive cars as big as many Third-World folks' homes, we'll probably be on our way to the next Ice Age in short order!

I'm not sure if these politicos enjoy global warming, but it sounds like they enjoyed the heck out of learning about it.:bang:

WASHINGTON -- When 10 members of Congress wanted to study climate change, they did more than just dip their toes into the subject: They went diving and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. They also rode a cable car through the Australian rain forest, visited a penguin rookery and flew to the South Pole.

My schedule is open for some "education" on the subject! I'm in the wrong job.....
