Sad because it is true or sad because it is false? I did not coin the term media whore. But I believe it fits. And truth be told- I believe Sarah Palin has masterfully parlayed her loss on the presidential ticket into multimillion dollar success- via the media.

I can't think of a more fitting term for her:Urban Dictionary: media whore

1. Media Whore-A person who has a psychological need to get into TV, Film, Radio or Print.

I
The point is: she didn't know
-about the engagement
-about her high school daughter's involvement that resulted in her pregnancy
.

What parent is the first to know about teen sex and ultimate pregnancy? :dunno: I'm certain my Mother was the absolute last to find out of my Big Sister's pregnancy.

I couldn't care less about what Bristol and Levi decide to do, but I do applaud them for seemingly getting past some issues.......and, on their own fruition, evidently.

I would speculate that they are looking for ways to get more than the 15 minutes of fame that they already have. A glamorous (to them) way to pay the bills. They probably think they would be perfect on a reality show.

I can definitely see how that might be their motivation. I can see few other reasons for them to contact Us Weekly other than for publicity and money.

And I agree with uga, "The way Sarah Palin manages her personal life is relevant."

I think Palin brings up these family values themes, and the "terrible way the media has attacked her children" as a way of deflecting attention away from the fact that she has virtually no foreign policy experience, a smattering of any governing experience, she quit the one and only elected office she ever had, and she has absolutely no idea how to fix the economy, end the wars in the middle east, or anything else related to running this country. Other than than, she's a great candidate.

If it acts like a duck...........

Geo's characterization was spot on - you must have missed Levi's recent appearance on the D-list w/ Kathy Griffin. She was in Alaska trying to teach him how to shamelessly work the media and build up his minor celebrity.

You don't know how to break news to your mother, you give her a glass of wine first or get another family member to help you - you don't put it on the cover of a tabloid.

Poor Bristol, I hope this turns out to be a good decision for her and her baby.

I think politicians' personal lives are a factor voters should consider. I also think politicians' kids are off limits ................. until they drag them into the spotlight and use them to promote their agendas.

Palin is a wannabe Mama Grizzly - as any REAL one (like Mama Scooterbug) would tell you, protecting your kids (no matter how old) is your #1 priority - it's not a punchline or a way to get media attention or political sympathy!

You HAD to see this one coming:

The bride will wear Carolina Herrera. The groom and the couple?s son will wear camo.
That?s how Bristol Palin envisions the outdoor wedding she and Levi Johnston are planning sometime in the next month or so in Alaska.
?Bristol definitely has some interesting ideas for her wedding,? Us Weekly executive editor Caroline Schaefer told NBC News in a story that aired Thursday morning on TODAY. ?She wants to wear a Carolina Herrera gown ? in white. She would like Levi and little Tripp to wear camo vests.?
Bristol will wear Herrera; camo for Levi, Tripp - TODAY People - TODAYshow.com

Ye gods, don't you all know great people who have idiot kids and vice versa? Millions of people have family values and none of these people are perfect and Sarah Palin does not pretend to be. This is so not news and an excuse to dump on Sarah Palin. By the way, in a poll run by Democrats Sarah Palin and Obama were 46/46 in one of those "if the election was today thingys". He only beat Jan Brewer by just 2%. I think we will be seeing much more of Sarah Palin and it has been shown she can play against Obama. She is raising phenomenal amounts of money from supporters. l
