Of course I'm serious. If we had stricter gun laws in place, people wouldn't be able to just get a weapon. There would be less accidents like this occurring.

If you wish to help eleminate accidental death than I would start with laws that would impact the largest majority of accidental deaths. We can start by eleminating all vehicles and doctors.
From CDC 2006 report
Unintentional Firearms Deaths 642
Motor Vehicle 43,664

Guns are responsible for many more deaths than that. Those are just the accidents related to guns. Look at the total number of deaths related to guns... Also, even if you chose to only look at the numbers of accidents related to guns compared to that of vehicles and doctors, you should also realize that doctors and vehicles are necessary, while guns are not necessary.

I agree that firearms are used to cause many deaths but most of those involve the criminal use of the firearm not its proper use. Your original post that I quoted related to this particular instance and even used accidents in the post. If you removed all firearms accidents then you would barely touch the number of total accidental deaths in the US. If you wish to remove the criminal misuse of firearms as deaths than you would create laws to make murder illegal. If a person wishes to commit murder they will. No law or lack of weapon will make a difference.

As for necessity I would prefer not to be legally required to have nothing but necessities in life. A car is not a necessity. Food, Clothing, Shelter, Water, Air are generally all that are necessities.

Good to see a young person become involved in a political blog. Lesson learned here might be to know the facts. Here use the Internet, Google works well...

Gunsafe fact sheet

All be it is 1997 on that link, Surely a good search might bring more recent info. That's all the time I will spend on this subject... Good Luck...

As wonderful as it sounds for government to save us from ourselves, it just doesn't happen that way. Stupid people are going to do stupid things, criminals will still be criminals and accidents will still happen.
so let's do away with driver's licenses and auto insurance

No silly, the fast food industry makes us fat, and they are going to pay for it.
mcdonald's for years fried their french fries in beef fat, saying their customer's demanded the taste. kellogg put trans fats and palm/cocunut oils in all their sugar laden cereals because it was the cheapest thing to do. this sets the stage for obesity and bad health. the fixes for the fast food industry are oftentimes easy. society pays the price.
