People live in a dream world if they think that in our life time there will be a world without oil. And that is what I think we will call a, just have to agree to disagree thing. FYI, i do reduce, reuse and recycle and my home doesn't have granite, marble or crown moulding either. If I was considering new construction you betcha I would look into the things you have done, all I can do now is to try to make my home more efficient. I really resent the inference that I hate the earth etc. etc. and that those that are against drilling are somehow superior.
I do appreciate your response to my question, but I have one more do you still drive a car?

I need to make one more point perfectly clear. I am NOT dissing crown moulding, marble, granite, etc... and if you think I was then you don't get me. I am saying that solar has this myth that enshrouds it - that it is somehow still a pipe dream - and my point was that most every time we mentioned we were building and incorporating solar we came across this

I also made my post because you said that alternatives were in the future and weren't invented. I learn every day and am more than willing to say when I am wrong and will even change my mind = but don't post about alternatives being somehow in our future and not expect and counter. And PLEASE - stop thinking that those who want to conserve are 100% anti-oil. We all get that we drive and that we drink from plastic, etc... :roll::roll: I mean it is insulting to suggest that we are just a bunch of dumb idealistic hippies or something. So those are my final points.
