There is one well known video shot during Reagan's second term where Nancy is caught feeding him what to say to reporters. We're talking responses to casual questions something like- "how are you feeling". I'll try and find the video and post...

And while I do not call into question whether McCain could handle it- it is undeniable that the presidency is a job that takes its physical toll on folks.

my father and grandfather both died of alzheimers...between 5 and ten years before diagnosis, both were experiencing different levels of dementia. reagan had issues well before diagnosis, and his last 2 years in office showed the decline....what were we talking about?
