tamara said:A little story for all you dog lovers. While I was gone to Cali my mom stayed with my two dogs. I have a Bichon that is very attached to me. He won't go to bed until I do. My mom would put him in bed with her every night and he would jump off and go lay on his dog bed by the back door until the middle of the night..... I guess waiting for me to come home. Finally he would give up and go back to her. This broke my heart. He did this for seven nights!

She's doing well after a spaying and a stomach tack. The standard poodle is one breed in which bloat is more common than in other breeds, so The Standard Poodle Nation recommends tacking the stomach to prevent that potentially fatal ailment. Pep gets her stitches out on Friday, so she'll be totally recovered by Thanksgiving. I've been a nervous wreck since the surgery, praying for no complications.Beach Runner said:Hey, SS. So, SS, as Billy Clinton would say, "I feel your pain."

No prob. "Aris Blue Skies Black Pepper" had her surgery on November 8. She was 9 months old on November 4. We were trying to wait on the spaying until the last possible minute so she would achieve essentially her max size and do the spaying at the same time as the stomach tack. If the pup grows much after the stomach tack, it could pop and have to be redone. We were trying to spare her two surgeries, yet not let her have a heat and greatly increase her chances of mammary tumors.Sueshore said:Ya' know BR...I vaguely remember you mentioning Pepper and a surgery, but had no idea it was recently! When was her surgery? Please give us the details...much dog love and prayer abounds here! I must confess something...unlike you, I don't HAVE A LIFE and so I get the pleasure of being a complete wacko when it comes to my dog! Not many people understand my complete and utter devotion to Molly and before that dear dear Missy. Luckily, I can always call PawPaw, because he knows what I am feeling without a word being said. After all...HE raised me like this!
Good luck Pepper! Molly sends you a kiss and a snuggle!
