I have a few things to say.....
- All you sowal wenches are the best medicine a person could ever have and I luv all of ya!! Laughter is truely the best medicine....but
- Josh, I believe that you are young and have never been in a situation that would make you think twice about dogging the term "clinical depression" and having to turn to prozac or some other drug.... I for one am NOT a pill popper. I rarely take tylenol or anything else for that matter. After the last few weeks of PURE HELL in my life I decided that I needed and had to turn to certain drugs to help me cope and to be a better mom and wife and friend. SOOOO, Yes there are some people that abuse the word and the drugs BUT there are some people out there who just need it to help them. Kudos to the people who invented the stuff. It can help in times of need....
- please note that this is MY opinion and thats all i have to say about that......
Thanks for sharing. I am normally an extremley positive person who is happy. My family laughs about my "rose colored" glasses. I prefer to think of my glass as half full, not half empty. That being said, I have experienced a sadness that I was unable to overcome. Before this, I had always been able to get through anything.
Rather than drink too much, too often,( tried it...not good) I chose to take medicine. I took a while for me to accept that I was unable to overcome the depression alone. What a difference it made!!! My physician said I would not need it longer than 6 months, and she was correct.
Cork is right about the problem...way to go Cork!! I love the analogy about thyroid or diabeties. I believe you cannot understand what a person does or has been through until " you walk a mile in his shoes." Just my opinion.
