For me personally, just a nicer town than Dillon. More of an established community. Hospital, real downtown, more housing variety. Frisco is right next door to Dillon (right where the road to Breck turns south off of I-70.) Not sure what you are really looking for, though. Frisco (like all the towns in ski country) gets pretty overrun with tourists.

Great idea. Kurt was right about learning to relax. I suggest you take up fishing.

Kurt was also on target about the coming real estate boom. Apply the lessons you learned from south Walton--buy land. The closer to the water the better (but with a weather eye for potential erosion problems). There are rumors of various resort-type development projects being planned for the region. Some will not come true, but some will.

All it's going to take is one four-lane highway dropped into the area off of I-10 or completion of the proposed Gulf Coast Parkway for the boom to begin.

And don't let people scare you about the so-called "culture shock". As soon as the boom begins the local Piggly Wiggly will be replaced with an upscaled Publix, some chain restaurants will open and you'll think you're back in Denver. :D

I believe there is a brand new grocery store, located practically on the water, in PSJ.

And then you'll pine for the good ole days of PSJ.

Cil,
Let me know if you visit a Real Estate Broker's office in PCJ, whose office is painted dollar bill green. The colors may be gold and brown on the outside.;-)

Both Dillon and Frisco are way too C-O-L-D!
(I used to sneer at women who whine about how they are cold, and now I have become one of them.)

Thanks for the further comments, everyone. I will try to take everyone's advice, and SlowMovin I agree with your comments.
And Kurt thanks for moving my thread, I really wasn't sure where to put it.

Right now I am enmeshed in figuring out how to transfer my 16 year old into the PSJ high school; it will be tough for them to match his schedule but perhaps the Florida Virtual School will be helpful.

Much thanks for that article, OnMackBayou.

Many hurdles must be cleared before the vision for Port St. Joe can become a reality. Affordable housing for the projected 900 new jobs created by the resort community development is only one of these hurdles.

FWIW, my husband will be working on the affordable housing.
