another band i enjoy is Shadowfax. quite different than DC. i first heard them back in college while visiting on Sanibel. A friend on another board was looking for music recomendations(sp) for relaxing music since a baby is on the way, and i immediately thought of them.

I saw Shadowfax in Tampa about 17 or so ago. They blew me away! Loved them. But I certainly wouldn't consider them "relaxing" unless they've changed!

He's amazing. Love him. He was out at a Dave Matthews concert on Randall's Island this past summer.

Call me ignorant...but what was that?

JR,
I just re-listened to some old Shadowfax and I guess they are a little more relaxing than I remembered. I guess the concert I saw was blasting loud and their percussionists (plural) were the best I've ever seen, and were featured throughout the concert. So, I stand corrected.
We went with another couple that year to see Tuck & Patty (not our choice but...) and Shadowfax was fantastic. Didn't give a flip about T. & P.

today's pick Jonatha Brooke, a singer songwriter with fans as rabid as dread clampitt's. i saw her once, and was totally taken by her. her lyrics come from her core, and the result is awesome. her site is one of the most open sites out there. you can listen to every song she's done, and the running commentary will give you the insight and background of what was happening in her life then. if you ever get a chance to see her, do so. also, she has a concert taped at XM that pops up on XM Cafe, evey now and then, songs and interview. buy her albums, go to her shows, subscribe to her email alerts for notices of performances.

be sure to highlite HIGH before listening

don't believe the hype. it's three hours door to door from here, but, there is the time zone change. you should definitely try to go. let me know if it's reality for you.
