My Honey's Coming Home!

Just got a call from my husband. He's in Chicago, his flight's on time, and he'll be coming home in less than an hour after a week-long business trip!

I guess this means I'm going to have to cut waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back on posting. I'm going to get bumped from the computer (someone hasn't had internet access in a while.... )

And no, I'm not going to show him that post about Victoria's Secret.

Well, sometimes your cup just runneth over, and today's one of those days. I was on the way to the airport to pick up my big man (hubby) and who should call but my little man (son)!!!! He's a freshman at USI in Evansville, a good four hours from here, and he's coming home for the weekend. :clap_1: We haven't seen him in almost a month!

I guess this means the kid needs his laundry done??

Well I am quite jealous as my child is in college 8 hours away and won't be home until mid October. My husband travels quite a bit so "empty nest" isn't that grand at this point. I am just grateful for this board. My family laughs at the enjoyment I have on it.

I get more belly laughs from this board than anywhere else. Some of the posters here--and you know who you are!!!!--are better than any stand-up comics I've ever heard.

I'm glad my boy is coming home. He's our first one flying the nest, and I can't say that it's been a small adjustment. Having him home for the weekend will be fabulous! I don't care if he brings a ton of laundry home with him.

W, glad you like the name Mermaid! I've been fascinated with them every since I was a little girl. Heaven to me would be swimming free in the ocean just like the mermaids do.

I feel your pain...a little bit. It does get better with time. My last one is now a soph and it is the best year! No first year worries and no worries about graduating and finding a job yet! I have learned alot about both of us with him away at school. The best part for me was no more having to have dinner ready at 6:00 pm and lots less laundry...oh, and not having to say.."Please pick up your room!" I do remember being wistful when the carpool horns would honk in the morning and looking at the clock around 4:00 pm and waiting for the door to open. OH NO...I've made myself sad! So glad I could help!!!!
