That is correct. I took the first post on this to mean taking photographs inside the polls, and I did not want them to risk being removed for doing that.

To change the tone just a little, John Stockman, Reagan's budget director, said on 60 Minutes that tax cuts were a form of insanity, that he was embarrassed by the outright demagogery of the Republican Party as to it's insistence on telling people that tax cuts are good for us. And that the top 5 percent of wealthy people in America have a net worth of 40 trillion dollars. I was wondering what the current Republican response would be to these facts.

Cutting taxes has become ?in a sense, an absolute ? something embedded into the catechism? of the GOP, Stockman tells Lesley Stahl. ?Scratch the average Republican today, and he?ll say ?tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts.? ?

Stockman brands that approach ?rank demagoguery.?

?If these people were all put in a room on penalty of death to come up with how much they could cut, they couldn?t come up with $50 billion, when the problem is $1.3 trillion,? Stockman complains. ?So to stand before the public and rub raw this anti-tax sentiment, the Republican Party, as much as it pains me to say this, they should be ashamed of themselves.?

But Stockman says the Democrats are going the same route and cites the example of President Barack Obama advocating a permanent tax cut for the middle class.

?We have now got both parties essentially telling a big lie with a capital B and a capital L to the public,? Stockman tells Stahl. ?And that is that we can have all this government, 24 percent of GDP, this huge entitlement program, all of the bailouts and yet, we don?t have to tax ourselves and pay our bills. That?s delusional.?

If we want all this 'free' stuff, everybody has to pay for it. That includes the rich, the poor, and the middle class. Then, you will agree that the tax cuts implemented by Bush need to cease. Am I correct? And do you also understand what he further said about the top 5% of the rich people in the US have 40 trillion dollars worth of assets, way more than the other 95% combined. Do you think this is healthy for the economy? Do you not think that the uber-rich should be taxed just a little bit more, to , at least, help pay for the wars their administration initiated?

i disagree. let those folks pay according to their ability. our nation's wealth is controlled by a narrow segment of the few.
