I don't think many folks could absorb the VAT tax necessary to get us out of debt quickly or balance the books, but I wouldn't mind paying an extra penny at the checkout THAT GOES DIRECTLY TO PAYING OFF THE NATIONAL DEBT while the government works to reduce spending.

If you do not mind then write a check to the FED for that purpose. Many people do, just not enough to keep up with the change the majority believes in.

and the big fancy wheels of the Federal Gov't continue to churn. Before we know it, the gov't will ram a stick into its own wheel when the job makers/risk takers in this Country decide that enough is enough, and tell the Fed Gov't to Shove It! Businesses will stop, people will be out of jobs, and spending will come to a halt or go to the black market, where it won't be taxed.

We pay state income tax in other states because of a partnership. The taxing changes have begun with a letter we received from New York. All deductions are gone except charitable giving and tax rates are up, up, up.

Maybe, jsut maybe this will be the beginning of the CHANGE in the tax code that this country needs so desperately.

Interesting times, indeed.
