i guess this didn't cover this in the masters of arts in communications, but state legislatures delegate authority to counties, to decide speed limits on county roadways.

I'm out on this dead horse. I've got no dog in the hunt...

You're running away from Geo's question? I was waiting for an answer because I haven't looked it up myself and could only guess that the answer is A because that seems the logical one to me. :dunno:

Is it:

A) 46 States have agreed to allow LSV's to be licensed, registered and driven on roads where the speed limit is 35MPH or less (like here)

Or is it:

B) 46 States have agreed to lower the speed limit on rural highways from 45MPH to 35MPH to accomodate a small group of LSV enthusiasts.

I'm out on this dead horse. I've got no dog in the hunt... I'm fine with it, keep LSV's from making the vaunted Deer Lake run. wouldn't want to slow traffic down for 5 more seconds, strictly unless you are a cyclists , and then it's all cool and acceptable..... wooohooo...

I just have a deeply held conception of South Walton as a progressive and unique area, where we could incubate a few new concepts that jive with new urbanism, not against it. - lowering the speed limit on a spit of roadway, to favor LSV usage (over GMC Yukon reliance) to connect the "fake" communties of 30A to a realization of what they really are, one community. Motion for a hearing denied by a goodly portion of the frequent poster cartel. - Drive like a bat out of hell on your little spit of 45MPH heaven.. enjoy.

peace out.

That's what I thought.

As luck would have it, I was on the bicycle/pedestrian path along 30-A today. I saw a guy whip into the passing lane heading west, and wouldn't you know, here is a guy on a golf cart on 30-A. He was obviously tooling down 30-A across Western Lake (illegally) and had a freaking traffic jam worth or cars behind him. He pulled over at the state forest running trail access to let cars pass (how nice). Sorry that my pics are suboptimal, but it drives home the fact that golf carts are NOT appropriate for 30-A.

At least the golf cart wasn't on the bike path. Thank heavens for small favors.
