Some of you may know that I've been babysitting a brown standard poodle for a while off and on. He's absolutely the sweetest dog! Anyway, my Maggie, black lab, has been fixed so no funn for Boone here. He belongs to my friend whose schnauzer puppy drowned a couple of weeks ago. She just got a female yellow lab puppy who will be Boone's wife when she grows up. I'm kinda hoping that maybe I might get a Labridoodle out of this union.....doesn't look promising if they go for around $2,000!! But at least I know she will keep one, and maybe I'll get to babysit that one too!

There was a lady in my neighborhood that had a litter of 8 labradoodles. She GAVE them all away. A friend of mine has one. It's chocolate brown and huge!! 8 months old and probably 70-80lbs. It's cute but not trained well yet. I'm used to my 8 lb toy poodle so he kinda scares me!

We just ordered a Yorkiepoo. It should be fully ?cooked? and ready to come home with us in about four weeks.

It looks like Brighteyes the Martini Time cat will have a little competition, but I think she?ll like it. We named it Albatross aka Allie -- seems appropriate, doesn't it? :D .

Congrats :clap_1: Nothing like a hot steaming poo! :lolabove:
I don't get the name though? I thought an Albatross was a huge meat eating bird? Am I missing something? :dunno:
Enjoy your new puppy.

:bang: Dang it! If I want one, I'll probably have to cough up the $2,000! Frankly, I'd rather spend it on a trip.....hmmmmmm....where would I go?:rotfl:

My kids drag me into Petland every chance they get. Most of ours don't even have normal purebred dogs anymore! They're all some kind of cross...a pomjack, lhasapoo, cockapoo, for example. It's not just the poodles anymore. I think it's a great way to reduce shedding and allergies breeding with a poodle but now it's getting crazy. They used to be called mutts! Now they charge over a grand for them at Petland. ( not that I would buy from a pet store)

I  mutts by the way.

My daughter just peeked over my shoulder and she wants to know what breeds went into the making of your "mutt." SO ADORABLE!

Enjoy your new puppy.

Back in the days before dinosaurs, when I was in high school, we were forced to read The Rime of the Ancient Mariner -- a poem written by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. In it, the Ancient Mariner killed an albatross by shooting it with a crossbow.

The sailors of old viewed the albatross as a sign of good luck. To make a long story short, the Ancient Mariner?s luck quickly changed after killing the thing. The albatross was with him in one form or another (bodily, in spirit, etc.) for the rest of his life. He couldn?t go anywhere without it, or without worrying about it, just like a dog. :funn:

Only people who were in school in the days of the caveman understand the humor in the name. :D
