Back in the days before dinosaurs, when I was in high school, we were forced to read The Rime of the Ancient Mariner -- a poem written by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. In it, the Ancient Mariner killed an albatross by shooting it with a crossbow.

The sailors of old viewed the albatross as a sign of good luck. To make a long story short, the Ancient Mariner?s luck quickly changed after killing the thing. The albatross was with him in one form or another (bodily, in spirit, etc.) for the rest of his life. He couldn?t go anywhere without it, or without worrying about it, just like a dog. :funn:

Only people who were in school in the days of the caveman understand the humor in the name.

We just ordered a Yorkiepoo. It should be fully ?cooked? and ready to come home with us in about four weeks.

It looks like Brighteyes the Martini Time cat will have a little competition, but I think she?ll like it. We named it Albatross aka Allie -- seems appropriate, doesn't it? .

Never heard of a Yorkiepoo, but it sounds adorable! I hope you post pics when you get him/her!
