Right here!
Nagin is going to kick some a$$ and take some names - for Katrina they had 1200 police in the streets and 300 national gaurd in the superdome. This time around 1500 police and 2000 national gaurd patrolling the enire city. Sounds like a pretty safe place to me!

sarafunn left part of her heart in NOLA and is watching the coverage. She is proud of the people of NOLA.

A lot of people don't realize Nagin is pretty centrist, and endorsed Jindal over Blonco in the 2004 election. He may not have been perfect last time around, no one was... . But, he is a pro-business moderate and he didn't deserve many of the labels hung on him after Katrina.

I was pretty proud of him after watching that press conference.

Me too.

Jindal had one a bit later and was equally impressive, I didn't realize just how business like he was. All I've seen of Jindal (before today) were a few of his speeches, this was completely different - he was all business, getting 'stuff' done. Not what I expected. I think the NOLA folks are in good hands.

Thanks, there are some of us that needed to hear something good about Nagin. I don't need to know his politics, just that he knows what to do this time.

The local news is showing right now that they are working on getting the folks with special needs out of NOLA. That's good to see--I know it was an issue last time. I hope that the storm is merciful to the city, but also hope that people won't stick around to find out.

I have mixed emotions about New Orleans (and Louisiana's) greatly improved prep for Gustav. I am proud and thrilled that they seemed to have learned a valuable lesson from Katrina, but sad that they are having to use what they've learned for Gustav. Another major storm is just devastating for people who have already been through so much.

Yes, hope FEEBLE, uh, I mean FEMA got it act together and there is someone at the helm whose background goes a bit further than training Arabian show horses, I would even take a runner up in the Miss Alaska Pagaent to run it, over what we had before, where's Brownie??

The good news is the CNN Breaking News for both hurricanes will all but dissolve and disrupt the Republican Convention. The truth will then be told is that what "came around once" (Katrina), will go around again (Gustav). Can you say Karma.
man, your being rude! I watched the one last week, and tried hard to keep an open mind, are you saying you can't do the same next week??

 Darling...I love you, but this is about a storm, not about the election. Let's keep a solid separation of church and state here. (Storms are mandated by God, so they are a religious issue.)

So Katrina is God's fault? Cool...
