Someone at work made some amazing no bake cookies, but I don't know the recipe and I don't know who to ask because I don't know who made them. I only know the ingredients by taste--chocolate, peanut butter and oats (like oatmeal).

Anyone know what these are?!

Yes!!!! I know them from my childhood and although it took me years, I found the recipe once again (and they taste just as good as I remembered  ) Hope this is what you're looking for.

No Bake Oatmeal Fudge Cookies

1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons smooth or chunky peanut butter
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. Put butter, sugar, cocoa and milk in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. Cook and stir until butter melts. Bring to a full boil; boil 1 minute or until the mixture starts to lose its gloss. Remove from heat and quickly stir in vanilla, peanut butter and oatmeal until well mixed.

Immediately drop by teaspoonsful onto the lined baking sheet. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon. Put in refrigerator until firm.

Enjoy!

Here's just one I found on the internet. I used to make them years ago but have since lost the recipe. I'll try this one; it looks similar to the recipe I had. But you might do some more internet research if it's not what you want. I'd also love to hear if someone has their own recipe!

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies
by Pamela Rice Hahn

These candy-like cookies are easy to make and delicious. If you want to indulge in something sinfully sweet but don't have the time to make something fancy, this quick and easy recipe is sure to hit the spot. Plus, there's the added bonus that because you're using your choice of ingredients, you'll be avoiding those nasty preservatives found in store-bought snacks.

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup cocoa

1/2 cup sugar (I use cane sugar)

1/4 cup milk (I use condensed or whole milk)

dash salt

1 tsp. pure vanilla

1 heaping tablespoon peanut butter (optional: add more to taste and increase the oatmeal)

1 1/2 cups UNCOOKED oatmeal

Microwave the butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 15-30 seconds, until the butter is melted. Add 1/4 cup cocoa and blend until the cocoa is dissolved into the butter.

Add the sugar, milk and salt. Blend well.

Microwave on high for 1 minute 10 seconds to bring to a full boil. (Should you need to microwave the batter some more, do so in 10 second increments.) You want a full boil, but because it will continue to cook for awhile once it's removed from the microwave, heating it too long can cause the mixture to scorch.)

Add the vanilla, peanut butter and oatmeal. Stir well. Drop by tablespoon-full on waxed paper and allow to cool.

Makes 12 cookies.

Oh, Mermaid beat me to it! Thanks, darlin'.

And thanks for your recipe, too. I see it has half the sugar and twice the cocoa. I bet that makes for a more dark chocolate taste, to my recipe's milk chocolate taste.

Only one way to know. I'll have to try yours!

No fair!! How come she gets to think about cookies AFTER the Holidays!!!

I was thinking the same thing too, as I was typing out the recipe. No goodie like that is going to touch my lips until the bathroom scale reads out a little differently...like lower lower lower!
