I think the parks are among the least important of all the government functions. I say that with full knowledge that a few private businesses, who benefit from their relationship with Uncle Sam, may suffer. I guess anyone can cherry pick their pet functions and find something to be upset about. The people crying the loudest are the ones who insist we don't need government for all but national defense. Kind of ironic that they are whining about being deprived of recreational activities of all things due to a shutdown that was a direct result of their own party's incompetence. Baby's candy has been takinen from him, call a wahhhmbulance!

It is the same as when the beaches here were closed here due to the BP spill, MANY people & businesses are affected.
When its 'all over I am sure some BIG law firm who has political connections will take claims on behalf of all people who were affected from & by this shutdown.

Another note. Friend informed me his company's monthly cost for his employees will be up $42K per month. due to Obama Care.
His business is here in the south & 90% of employees are Latino.
He can't find any rednecks that are willing to work.

You talk like a socialist if you're whining that the federal government isn't doing enough to prop up these businesses. Hey, at least you admit that government plays a vital role in the private sector economy. So why did you shut it down? That doesn't make any sense.

You would communicate a lot more effectively if you would put some of your own words with your links if you in fact have anything to say. For one, the link is broken. Even if it it weren't, rather than make me, the reader, read between the lines, you really ought to at least comment on the salient points of the article, the conclusions you draw, and perhaps your policy recommendations. My interpretation of the article may be much different than yours possibly prompting me to say "so what?" Do you see what I'm saying? Manufacturing for 2 international co. Last year 1 threatened to go to China unless he lowered his prices.

10 years ago another friend moved his company to China due to EPA regulations , employee problems & costs + taxes
