Maybe he should have become a pro basketball player instead of the President of the United States. He might have been more successful.
I don't know what standard of success you are using, but by any I can think of he is pretty damn successful.
He is healthy, well educated and traveled, a self-made millionaire, has a loving wife and family, has achieved worldwide fame for good reasons, and is actively improving the world.

And I think if you actually research what he is doing and believes in, you will find that you agree with much of it.
And you did not even get his position right. He said politicians who do not follow campaign promises with actions will be replaced the next election. We do not require that all the world's problems be fixed immediately, but we do require effort and keeping promises.
