Right here!
I thought I was following the election rhetoric pretty closely but this is a new one to me. Does anyone know what he is talking about?

He's just talking about all these little organizations funded by the government -

He plans to double the Peace Corps' budget by 2011, and expand AmeriCorps, USA Freedom Corps, VISTA, YouthBuild Program, and the Senior Corps. Plus, he proposes to form a Classroom Corps, Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, Veterans Corps, Homeland Security Corps, Global Energy Corps, and a Green Jobs Corps.

Most of the organizations that already exist (Peace Corps and the Freedom Corps Bush created for example) operate off miniscule budgets. Usually a couple hundres million or so. It's really not that big a deal, and most of this probably will never see the light of day anyway.

As far as I can tell, he doesn't trust our military....

Pretty cool coming from somebody that wants to be Commader in Chief..

I guess lerxst answered my question. It sounds like the WPA, CCC, Peace Corp, JROTC, ROTC, military and anything else you can think of all rolled up into one. I don't understand it but then I am not a Harvard graduate.

Well if you watch the video, he talks about this in the context of some key words: National Security, and the Military, are these organizations part of National Security?

If that is the case, what does he mean that this Civilian Defense will be as well-funded and as powerful as our military? That math don't add up.

As you said, it will never see the light of day.

Or, you could use your stimulus check from "W".

I'm glad to see rebate checks regardless of who sends them - they are essentially a tax cut. The problem of course is that they are usually progressive in nature, I help pay for them, but I never seem to get one. More punishment for poor old me, I should learn better than to simply get a good job and work hard all my life. :dunno:

And I help pay for wars of choice, expanded government, faith based initiatives, wall street bailouts, bigger tax breaks for the top 1%, etc, etc, etc,
