Right here!
Your definition of preexisting condition is way off.

In the past people were denied insurance coverage due to preexisting conditions such as HIV, Diabetes, past instances of cancer, chronic illness, and even family history.

The idea that you can break your leg and just stop by the insurance sales office on your way to the hospital is wrong, that is not a preexisting condition.

One of the biggest reasons that insurance companies loved the preexisting condition clauses was a professional courtesy. Someone changed jobs, carriers, or any number of reasons they would need new insurance and the new company could either deny or exclude something that was previously covered.

I'm not going to even read an opinion piece from a right wing think tank.

Got any real reports? Even the title isn't definitive, and makes it clear that it's an opinion piece loosely based on facts.

Intern: How do you make a budget?

Accountant: We use last years numbers and multiply them by an increase.

Intern: How do you determine the increase amount?

Accountant: We usually pull the number out of our butts.

Intern: I'm gonna work at Enron forever!

I like DISCUSSING politics/national issues and hearing what others think about topics, but I hate when people just stereotype, snipe, and regurgitate their party or their chosen media outlet's talking points.

Some of my favorite political posters are those who are typically on the other side of the issue, but actually discuss the issue, post their own opinions and thoughts, and read and respond to my questions and comments. They usually teach me something about the issue and make me reevaluate or readjust my stance.
