Part 4

 My journal started getting a little slim by this time so my reports might not be as long as before. I have no idea what we ate for breakfast..probably donuts or poptarts. After our nutritious breakfast I sent Dylan down to the walkover to see if the flags had changed. By looking out from the balcony it looked a little more calm. he came back and they were still purple and red so we decided to packed lunches and headed up to Grayton. We ended up at the state park so we could use the restrooms there. The first thing I did was walk to the outflow area. It took about 15 minutes one way and I found quite a few shells along the shore and in the surf. I found a small complete sand dollar but dropped it and when I scooped it up again I broke it. :sosad: The kids spent the day building more castles and salt mining as Dylan called it. It was a really good day at the beach except for the not entering the water part. The sky was a pretty shade of blue and the gulf seemed like it was calming down some. It was nice and warm too, probably in the low 80's.

We ate at Seagrove Market that night and had the grouper po boys and hush puppies. It was very good and didn't taste frozen at all. ;-)

Beachmom called and we set up a lunch date for the next day. :clap_1:

We heard that Seaside had spring break concerts on Tuesday nights so we went there after dinner. Remember that picture that SJ took of the sea of people on the lawn? We were there. :D We listened to the music some but walked around and went into some shops, Sundog and had ice cream at Heavenly Shortcakes. We waited in this really long line and then they were out of what we wanted. :bang: The kids were really sweet that worked there and recommended some other stuff. The fam had coconut, grapefruit and tiramisu ice cream. I had the shortcake. ( they were out of the cake batter)

After that I'm sure we hit the hay..the beach is so tiring.

Part 4

We woke up and it was going to be a gorgeous day. Dylan went down to the walkover to check the flags. He came funning back screaming it's a yellow flag!! He was just a little excited. So the boys got ready and went to the beach while Sam and I got ready to meet the girls for lunch. We stopped at Seacrest at the shops to look around. I went into the jewelry store there and I mentioned we were down from Ohio and a guy in the back came out and said he had just moved from Akron a week ago. I told him he was a lucky duck and we talked for a bit.

We had decided on Shades at the Loop for lunch. Sam and I were early so we requested a table. I had met Jdarg and Kate on Sunday and they were the first to arrive. Jenny had a whole crate;-) of earrings that Mermaid had made while she was there. It was funn looking at them. She has a real eye and talent for jewelry making. I had talked to Beachmom but hadn't met her yet. She arrived with Lil Beach and she was just like her posts and avatars...very funn and sweet and beautiful! IBD came in a minute or so later and I went up and hugged her...she was like who the heck are you???!!! I knew who she was right away from pictures. She's a hoot, very striking and has this deep sexy voice I only get when I have a sinus infection. :D Toots and Franny wanted to make it but couldn't. e were talking and all the sudden we had another surprise...it was Daddy-O himself. I was thrilled to meet him. Without him, none of this would be happening. Thank you Kurt. It was a grayt lunch but the beach was calling. It was the bestest beach day we had so far so we had to git!

We hauled butt back to the condo changed and hit the beach. The water was very cold but actually not as cold as you might think and isn't too bad if the air temp is above 80. I only went in up to my hips tho. The water was really really calm too calm for boogie boarding but it was funn to walk out onto the sandbar and play around there. There were actually LESS people in the water on the yellow flag days than the red ones. :bang:

That night we went to Pandora's for dinner and drove by Blue Orleans and finally got that gumbo we'd been wanting to try. That was going to be lunch for the next day. We bad beignets for dessert. Did I spell that correctly? They were good, messy but good. I know, I'm already planning on starting WW or South Beach on Monday, sowell here I come...

We also went to Destin Commons----world of the perfectly dressed and coifed teens. Could have skipped this stop but for some reason we were compelled to go. Like I mentioned before I had pulled a muscle or something in my foot and it was really hurting so we headed back to another sound, peaceful beachy sleep.
