My parents sent me a Southern Living article that is exclusive to Florida. They thought I would be interested in the article because they know I love Alys Beach. Little did they know that the entire article is about one of our very own SoWal celebrities!!! CHICKPEA!!! The article explains that she & her husband are the chief architects for Alys Beach, and are presently the sole year round residents of Alys Beach....
I scanned the article, and will attempt to post it. I teied to find a link, but could not find one at the SL wab site. If any one is in Florida...get the Sept. issue and read the article entitled "Building a Town"
   Yay Chickpea & Hubby!!!!

At first, I thought by "Sl," you were referring to Sports Illustrated. That Caliza (sp?) Pool sure has come a long way, and looks nothing like that now.

Hi,
This is Sassy's mom Teresa. Sassy and I drove about 26 miles of beautiful 30A on Labor Day. We were amazed at how beautiful and diverse the communities are. Although, we go to several beaches to lounge or hand out safety info, it has been a couple of years since we just drove to observe and OOOOhhh and AAAAAAhhh at SoWal. When we drove through Alys Beach, Sassy shrieked with delight and almost caused me to wreck when she first laid eyes on the fabulous "Jetson" home --as we have lovingly nicknamed it-- the gorgeous, futuristic one that stops traffic. We have been searching her calendar for a free afternoon/night for her and her younger queens to drive down to SoWal and take pictures around some of the most beautiful sites and we definitely want to include that HOUSE as a backdrop in one. Is this the one mentioned in the Southern Living article? If it isn't, can anyone give details? Sassy is just dying to get a closer look and meet the owners sometime.
Well, I have to teach 9th graders, Have a blessed day!!
Teresa
