It only takes a second for a child to dart out, a bicyclist to get hit and PLEASE, if you are drinking, get someone else to drive. This is for all of 30-A - we have kids and value their lives, so PLEASE, pay extreme attention! These roads were not designed for the amount of traffic that we get and there are many blind spots. In areas of restaurants, where parking is tight, you need to be more vigilant!

ok, off my soapbox.

I have learned that just because the light turns green it is not always safe to go. Running red lights is a regular practice here. I even watched a cop do it the other day.

Parents watch your kids! Irresponsible parents are a good bit of the problem here. That and the developers who continually build projects for 30a and the CORRUPT BCC/PLanning Board who approve them, all in the pursuit of more tax dollars. 30a already is handling more traffic than designed for and the counties solution - change the road designation to a higher use. Brilliant or political?

That said - DRIVE DEFENSIVELY, ESPECIALLY IN AREAS SUCH AS SEASIDE WHERE PARKED CARS ARE EVERYWHERE! YOU'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOURSELF IF YOU HIT SOMEONE, CHILD OR ADULT.

That's my rant for today.

I don't have a problem w/ the amount of "traffic" on the roads, but there is a lot of parking and landscaping that makes it much harder to see and avoid other cars, bikes, pedestrians etc.

And it certainly wouldn't hurt for people to hang up the phone and drive.

Also, find an appropriate turn around. It is illegal to make a u-turn on 30A. :bang:

While we're at it, I want to make a pitch for defensive bike riding as well. A lot of the tourists are riding cruiser bikes for the first time, wobbling all over the path, don't know how narrow the bridges are, and gawking as well. For your own safety, give them a wide berth.

Probably will have minimal impact, if any at all, for a good while. New airports don't mean more traffic. It's just a delivery point. Nothing will change for anybody for a good while except for the street address where you will need to pick people up.
