Has the typical airport rental car changed to a large SUV w/ tailgate extender, roof rack, and tinted windows? If not, I think it'll be an improvement.

Amen Supermom...it's crazy out there..

It only takes a second for a child to dart out, a bicyclist to get hit and PLEASE, if you are drinking, get someone else to drive. This is for all of 30-A - we have kids and value their lives, so PLEASE, pay extreme attention! These roads were not designed for the amount of traffic that we get and there are many blind spots. In areas of restaurants, where parking is tight, you need to be more vigilant!

ok, off my soapbox.
I can't tell you how many children darted out in front of our car this weekend and how many teenagers casually strolled across 30A without looking. Everyone needs to drive carefully.
While we're at it, I want to make a pitch for defensive bike riding as well. A lot of the tourists are riding cruiser bikes for the first time, wobbling all over the path, don't know how narrow the bridges are, and gawking as well. For your own safety, give them a wide berth.
The bicyclists should get the message with the incredible number of warning signs on the bike path. Many of the signs are just plain common sense and seem useless. I mean, if they're going to put out signs like those, they need to put out signs that say, "CONTINUE INHALING AND EXHALING WHILE RIDING YOUR BICYCLE."
