People in line getting frustrated by waiting in line--it's the holidays, you're shopping, what do you expect? Last weekend in line at the Banana Republic outlet, the guy behind me sighed loudly and heavily so many times I was about to offer to teach him some yoga breathing exercises.
Ditto. I was in the Hobby Lobby this week, and some lady took her sigh to the next level, making it very clear to everyone in a 50ft radius that she was upset with the little elderly lady who asked the clerk to help her wrap a gift. She had moved from the elderly lady's line to fall in behind me. I think she was looking for sympathy from me, but I had none to offer. I just pictured that being my grandma asking for assistance.

I really try not to shop anywhere if I'm in a hurry. It's much more enjoyable when you aren't rushing. You can really appreciate the season and are more available to practice little random acts of kindness. Nevermind that I still want to :whack:my own mom.:D

Idiot drivers. It's like they are the only person on the road, going anywhere. I have been cut off, almost run over, this week so many times I have lost count.

I am doing my shopping online. That way I don't get cussed at, or run over and I can SoWal at the same time.

And LLBean has free shipping. :D

I'm not sure that mine above is really a peeve, at least for me. The little girl in line in front of me captured the majority of my attention as she was chewing on her dad's keys. She was a cutie pie. I'm not sure what she chews on when dad inserts the keys into the ignition on the ride home.

My pet peeve is with myself. Why do I try to recreate a Norman Rockwell Christmas? It's all just an illlusion, I should know this by now. :bang:

OOOOOh, have you hit the nail on the head. I want a Christmas just like the ones in the magazines and every year I am so disappointed that I can't carry it off. I always end up wishing I were Jewish or something so I wouldn't have to decorate for the holidays.

If she's like my gullfriends' kids, she chews on whatever is within reach of the carseat, and if the car is like my gullfriends' cars, that's quite a variety of stuff that never got taken out of the car. Quite an interesting little ecosystem in the backseat of the grocery-getters.

I get a kick out of your baby posts. Is your clock ticking, SJ?

And why do I tell everybody who calls me that I'll work/perform/do the hokey-pokey/whatever between Thanksgiving and Christmas? I can't remember the last time I wasn't stretched six ways to Saturday during the month of December. Where's my Xanax and Mike's...?

Yes, my clock is ticking, but not my baby clock, just my life clock. So, I stop to take a moment to recognize beauty, no matter where it rests.
