Thank you Miss kitty. I think I am almost back to normal. I did make a few observations during my bedridden week. I am a firm believer in something good always come out of something bad. I am one to try to see the silver lining in situations. So here now are my obersvations/silver linings about having the flu.

  1. When the cook, chauffeur, maid, and animal care giver is down, the household does NOT, I repeat, does NOT fall apart. Amazingly the two people that live here with me survived a week without my doing ANYTHING!!! Yep, that is right. They learned to fend for themselves. They did not starve to death. They actually found something to eat all by themselves. They actually cleaned up after themeselves AND washed/dried/folded their own clothes. The non-driver of the two actually found other taxi services whenever he wanted to go somewhere. They also made sure that the two fur babies did not starve to death either. It is amazing!!! Because for all these years I thought they were helpless, because MOM did it all. Well guess what? The cook, the maid, and the chauffer have quit their jobs. That's right boy's. You showed me that you can take care of own selves, so the hired help has moved on!!! You are on your own now. :D
  2. A body can live off of chicken broth and liquids for several days. I now have a jump start on my New Years resolution list. Number one being to get my weight back on track. It is a done deal. I still cannot smell or taste anything, so I say "Why bother to eat anything good if you can't taste it"? Now, I just have cross off those other few resolutions and I am good to go.
  3. Your extended family will pitch in and help when they can. God love my sister who came down and helped me out Christmas day. She is usually very schedule oriented and any crimp in her plans upsets her. She learned that she can be very flexible when needed.
  4. My job is still there waiting for me when I get back. I don't know what will be on my desk, but at least my boss was supportive of my being gone so long.
So I say to all you SUPERMOMS out there, life does go on without you even when you think it never would. The first thing I learned is not to feel guilty becuase you are sick. Concentrate on getting better and let your body heal, everything else will just fall into place.

So thank you again for all of your kind words. To all of my SoWal peeps, Happy New Year!!! Go out and make it your best year yet. You never know what amazing things might happen!!!!

Welcome back to the land of the living; we missed you.
Life Lessons . . . why do they have to be learned the hard way? Hope you are able to stick to new guilt-free life. :clap_1: Now - do you have big plans for New Year's Eve?

glad to hear you're back among the living!

best flu cure = sowal sunshine through a nice clean window in a hot dry room, followed by sowal moonshine through the same window - rinse with mild bleach and repeat

i always wondered why we get so much stuff during the winter - its just that us humans mix more and are closer and more closed up inside houses during the winter, getting less uv rays from outside to kill the bugs, and the bugs like the cold (thats why your body does the fever thing)

the other thing the bugs don't like is dehydration - if you and your body can stand it, the next time you start to get a bug - stop drinking water or liquids for as long as possible and i even take a few yeast tablets to purge what i have - once you get the headache you know you're there and you can take on a small bit of water at a time - works wonders

now its your kid's and family's turn - and don't get reinfected

I have been violated!!!!!

Love Story

I will seek and find you . .

I shall take you to bed and have my way with you
I will make you ache, shake & sweat until you moan & groan.
I will make you beg for mercy, beg for me to stop.
I will exhaust you to the point that you will be relieved when I'm finished with you.

And, when I am finished, you will be weak for days.

All my love,
The Flu

Now, get your mind out of the gutter and go get your flu shot!
