I've never understood what it is about a Nat'l ID Card that gets so many in a frenzy!

It's the notion that you would be required to have it on your person and could be stopped and asked to show it at any time for no particular reason. If I go outside for a walk and either forget my ID or decide not to carry my wallet, that is my right and my business. What would be the point of national ID unless the next step is to require people to have it on their person?

Then maybe we should just have our ID #'s tattooed to our foreheads. That way, we won't have to carry our wallets

At what age do you apply the tatoo? A newborn's head is probably too soft, so I'd wait til about 6 mos. Even then the child's head is going to outgrow the tattoo and it would have to be reapplied. Small price to pay for security and liberty and justice for all.;-)
