Where does everyone come from?

As some of you know when I leave SoWal by car, I wait until 4 - 5 and get home by 8 - 9. It typically takes me about 4 hours. TODAY.....it took me 5 1/2 hours. I don't leave until late to avoid most of the traffic headed north. It was not bad from 30-A up 331 to I-65 in Montgomery where it was almost gridlocked. I inched through Montgomery and got a phone call from another friend of mine headed back to The 'Ham who was a bit north of Montgomery and he said "Get off ASAP it's that bad all the way home. I got off in Clanton and went 31 north. Where had all of these people been? Gulf Shores? Mobile? New Orleans? The south bound lane was not nearly as bad.

It was the busiest travel day of the year, after all...

They are all coming home to the big city, having been to Granny's house for Thanksgiving, wherever that may be...

We drove through Knoxville and Nashville yesterday on I-40. Inbound to both towns from either direction were jammed, outbound just looked like normal traffic.

Truly random:

My name is NoHall, and I'm an office-supplies-a-holic. I went to Office Max yesterday with two things on my list: A 4-inch binder for my latest set of musical theatre scores, and some post-it flags. On the way in, I said to myself, "Dadgummit, this time I'm going to buy a decent stapler." (I've wanted a decent stapler for a long time, and have jammed up my tiny portable stapler too many times.)

I came out with three bags. I'll use all of it, probably before the end of the school year, but it amazes me that I could go in with a list that would cost less than $20 and so easily bring out 4 times that much. If money were no object, I could absolutely destroy Office Max. File boxes (I LOVE boxes of any kind!) Sharpies, highlighters that don't get the page wet, electric 3-hole punches, PAPER, pencils--I got a new pencil yesterday that uses liquid graphite. It looks like a ball point pen. The jury is still out on whether it's my new favorite thing...

How can I be so happy and ashamed at the same time?

did you get a new stapler? there is a stapler at staples that is awesome it may be an electric stapler, but you barely touch it and it staples so easily.


Does anyone watch the show Brothers and Sisters? I can't believe Lyle Lovett and Chevy Chase both were on there tonight.
