My favorite cheap wine is Barefoot Pinot Grigio. About $6/bottle at most grocery stores or $10 for the big bottle. My husband drinks Barefoot red on occassion and says it's not bad, but I think the Pinot Grigio is really good. Give it a try.
Tried it when it first hit the shelves and was about $3 or $5 at Tower. Wasn't bad, but not diggin it now.
Have you tried Crane Lake Cabernet? Kroger has it for about $4 and it's not bad.
Would probably do the Mondavi on sale over any of the above. The cheaper wineries should be doing really well these days. I must admit, I miss my favorites. Can hardly wait to be making $$ again......
