Red Bar: The Local Gold Standard

We go to The Red Bar all the time. And we would probably go even more often were it not for the fact that we really like to try new places and support more of our local establishments...

For me, The Red Bar has become the local gold standard. I say this because every time I leave The Red Bar I cannot help but think (and typically say to whom I am with at the time)-

"The Red Bar is one of the greatest restaurants I have ever been to."

Now don't get me wrong- the best steak I ever had wasn't at The Red Bar. Nor was the best Chinese or Mexican food I ever had at The Red Bar. The best service I've ever had wasn't at The Red Bar. The best wine I have ever drank wasn't either. I have been to much nicer places- ETC, ETC, ETC.

But what makes The Red Bar one of the greatest restaurants I have ever been to is the fact that everything about eating there (the food and beyond) is consistently very very good and I can think of no other place that I can take for granted for delivering such a satisfying dining experience over and over again...

Amen! My family feels like we were invited to a party when we go there. It is so laid back, so welcoming, and lets face it, the atmosphere is like being at your crazy Aunts house, you never know who is going to be in there, but you are guranteed to have a good time. And the music just makes you happy!

I couldn't agree more. The Red Bar is such a great place. I love taking out-of-town family and friends there on their first day here. It always starts their vacation/trip on the right foot.

We just moved to Santa Rosa Beach and discovered Red Bar recently. It's been our favorite find so far. It feels homey and fun at once.

Hands down in my top 5 of best restaurants in the World!

I still to this day remember my first time in the Red Bar (and that's saying a lot based on the alcohol I consumed).
I still to this day remember everytime I've been in the Red Bar.
I still to this day stare in amazement and slack jawed when people make the comment, "I've never heard of it".

I agree.!

We love it for breakfast and lunch. Love people-watching there. Love the funky NOLA sort of atmosphere. We never miss going there at least once for a weekend trip. Two weekends ago we went twice!
