I think the reason the Red Bar is such a great place is how Oli treats his staff and customers. Look around. Some of the people working there have been employed 10 plus years! Around these parts that is unheard of. Plus from day one Oli has gone out of his way to make everyone feel special. He is a class act! His family is amazing and he surrounds himself with great people. The end result is a place that is more then just a restaurant! It is a part of 30A that one has to visit even if they have no interest in dining. The Red Bar is our very own local "Rock Star"!

Just don't replace those velvet sofas...they are my favorite:love: along with those grayt mermaid sconces!
Wait a minute. Replacing them every so often is needed. Removing them, however, would be wrong. I was very happy when Oli replaced the last couch. Now, there is no duck tape to get stuck in my hair.

For me, the Red Bar is home. I don't go for the beer, the food, or the service -- all of which can be found at most restaurants. The Red Bar just feels comfortable, whether I am wearing a wet swim suit with sandy feet and flip flops, or dressed up :)floor:). The staff, even after dealing with crazy customers all day, still takes care of you. The live music is a huge draw, and the sofas add that home-feeling. We went Friday night just to listen to the jazz band, which is fabulous. They had everyone tap their feet. Sunday's, after church, are also great with Dread Clampitt playing. On the busy nights, you can see Oli running around, making sure that everyone is happy, and often, when Oli isn't on the floor, it is always great to see Louis greeting everyone. Both are such welcoming people.

Red Bar may not be the best place around here, but it is one of my favorites, and once you've been, you will remember it forever.
