I am writing this story for Grayton Pearl Girl (at her request). It's so quirky and improbable that we're convinced that ONLY Greg could have made something like this happen expressly to make us all laugh!

Naturally, the evening that Greg passed, Hospice came to the house to 'do what they do'. After quite some time had passed, the Hospice nurse informed us that the coroner's van would be arriving shortly to pick up Greg's body for transport to the mortuary. By that time it was dark outside and as ours is a very dark street; Chase and CrazyK went outside to move some vehicles around and wait in the street to hail the coroner's van.

Suddenly a UHAUL truck pulls up.

Chase and Crazy were HORRIFIED:
"WTF???? For the Lova God, have they come to pick up Greg in a fk'ing UHAUL moving truck?!?!"

As it turns out it was not the coroner; but Dom, who had stopped by after a delivery job to bid adieu to Greg!
However in the moment and amidst the situation, Dom's expected arrival had been completely forgotten... and Dom and his UHAUL truck were momentarily mistaken for the coroner.

Greg didn't waste any time to start up his teasing from the other side ;-)

Oh, DuneAHH, I had forgotten about that. Totally blew my mind!

I didn't know about this story until last week! When Chase told me the story we laughed & snorted so hard we couldn't breathe.

Have been hearing from a number of Greg's school age friends!! Some of them are planning to attend Greg's LIFE CELEBRATION picnic! Isn't that exciting??? Now we can all ask the question & get the poop on:
Was Greg ALWAYS a good, fun & crazy guy?!?!?!

At their request and with permission, I'll be posting some of their memories...

From F.R. Swearingen:

"Greg was a good friend... always a pleasure to have him over to our home on Deer Run (in Miami Springs, FL). He was a great little league ball player. Greg was on the "Green" team, I was on the Blue Team.. and his team always beat us. He was always a gentleman, even when his team beat my team (which was the usual case). We were like 12 or 13 I think."
