I have to tell ya the best duck on the planet Earth is served at the Four Seasons restaurant in NYC. Splurge and make it a birthday weekend in NY !!!
When is your bday? If I am in NYC at that time I will take you to the Four Seasons as my treat. I know the maitre'd there and I always get a table by the pool.

Thanks for the invite Goofer but I'll have to gracefully decline your wonderful offer--NY is a great state for duck, never had a bad dinner anywhere there. I haven't been to NYC in a while, although I love it there (I'm big N.E. city born and bred) but am not a big fan of traveling up north during the colder climes. As for my birthday--let's just say my birthday is in a month with an "R." Next time you're at the Four Seasons, have a duck and a glass of their best burgundy in my name. (and include an additional over-generous tip as well--wouldn't want them to think I'm cheap )

I consider sending back food, that is clearly below par (with a full explanation of the problem), as a favor to the owner/chef. It gives them the opportunity to turn a dissatisfied customer into their best source of referrals.

There isn't a restaurant on the planet that can say everything is absolutely perfect everyday--whether it is the food, service, reservation system, or bar--things can, do and always will go wrong. My highest praise goes to restaurants who know how to handle the everyday problems with style and grace.

I just had brunch there and looked at the dinner menu. Duck was on there so it seems they just haven't updated the website. I liked the looks of the Chicken Rochambeau on the site which isn't on the menu at present. Oh and it was maybe the best onion soup I have ever had today. But I say that once every 3 years somewhere. And
