Scenic 30A Re-opened Between Hwy 393 and Hwy 83 @ Draper Lake

Publix was required to install one to get a development order.

83 does not need a stoplight! People just need to drive like they have half a brain and put their cell phones away. There is a little extra traffic due to current detour. Without detour there is never more than a few cars waiting.

98 is dangerous with or without stoplights. The turn lanes at 395 need to be fast tracked.

WALTON COUNTY REOPENS COUNTY HIGHWAY 30A AT DRAPER LAKE BETWEEN HWY 83 AND HWY 393

Walton County Public Works Crews have completed the installation of a temporary bridge crossing Draper Lake on County Highway 30A between Highway 83 and Highway 393. The road is now open to traffic.

The County installed the temporary bridge after having to close that section of road due to a culvert failure during the storms that hit the area in late April and early May. The failure of the culvert caused the road to be unsafe for vehicular travel.

This temporary bridge will remain in place until engineering crews can assess the full damage caused by the failure and determine the best way for the County to move forward with a permanent solution.
