We are coming down for the weekend for a HOA in Seacrest Beach. We always get all the scoop on what is going on at these things (whether we want it or not). Mr D's son-in law is still on our board so I expect he will be in attendance.

We usually have a 10 minute meeting and 2 hours of gossiping, intermingled with a few cold beverages. If I hear any rumors/facts about that parcel I will pass it along.

Or about anything else - thanks!

That lot belongs to D. Harris, as does the house up the street. He developed Seacrest, and is working on the Estuary. Mr. Harris has seen the inside of the Federal Pen., and it is my guess that he is using the Seacrest sign to avoid paying taxes in some way-- this is only my guess. It is not a part of the new Seagrove Downtown.

I am disappointed in those who choose to use this forum to pubically attack a man who you don't know.

Mr. Harris has "done time," and that is no secrect. To say that he is doing things illegally now is not fair to him. He has done, and continues to do, many great things for our community. The sad thing is that most people will not recognize those many good things that he does and instead choose focus on his past mistakes. Those same people who criticize Mr. Harris won't hesitate to approach him for donations to a bazillion "good causes."

I think that this message board is not the time nor place to make such public allegations. Gossip can destroy peoples' lives, especially when it is personal. Talk all you want about who is building what and where, but please be careful to not hurt individuals.

Since you don't know who I am, how can you know who I know? Never once did I attack D. Harris. In fact, I left out his first name to disguise him a bit. You blew his cover. He did serve time in the pen. He has created and is currently creating some great communities.

By stating that Mr. Harris is probably trying to avoid taxes does not say that he is doing so illegally. We are all trying to avoid taxes, and, personally, I will seek any loophole in the tax code to take advantage for myself.

Personally, I think D. H. is a smart guy, and for the record, I would like to say that I feel like it is you who is harping on the bad notes. I have not hurt DH's reputation, nor have I misrepresented the facts.

Furthermore, I have never asked for D. Harris's help for anything, not even to donate the salt for the First Annual Margarita Mix Off, which could be construed as just one of many "bazillion "good causes.""

As for gossip, have you read the Walton Undercurrent? Let's get RiverOtter's opinion. Do you like to read gossip on this Board? By the way, "I don't repeat gossip, so listen closely the first time." -- Hee-Haw

Go defend Michael Jackson. Mr. Harris can handle himself. Michael needs your help.
