Hey DD, Love the Trumpet vine, but boy are they extremely invasive!! I planted one on my fence some 15 years or so ago and it is coming up all over the place, next to the house, in flower beds that I do not want it in etc..... I would take that into consideration before I plant trumpet vine again. I even tried to kill it once, I finally gave up.Trumpet vine maybe? I have one on a trellis and it's part shade/part sun. Blossoms mid-Spring.
Here in NW Florida, I think it is hot enough that many vines do well in the shade. I have some Carolina Jasmine that is hearty in the shade. Also have another big vine over my steps that does very well in the shade, but I have no idea what it is. Passion flower seems to do fairly well in the shade in our area, too.

The below link discusses the differences between Carolina and Confederate Jasmines. I have Confederate which blooms (white) in shade, is wonderfully fragrant, and with some care in planting and minor pruning doesn't become invasive.

another is Cross Vine (has tubular flowers similar to trumpet vine).
My Sweet Autumn Clematis tolerates a fair amount of shade.
