Poor Shula, I always wanted to see him do well. I remember seeing him QB Alabama in Tiger Stadium in 1985. That may have been an omen as LSU/Bama tied that day, and that was the only time between 1969 and 2000 Alabama did anything other than win in Baton Rouge.

Here is my opinion. I think they should have given Shula one more year to build the program. He was in a tight spot coming in to Alabama, and not being able to recruit really hurt us. However, he is leaving with 4 mil in his pocket so I think that he will be just fine. Now, about Spurrier...OMG, I would never believe that I would for one minute be a fan of a team that he coached. I am not saying he is not a good coach, he is. But Alabama? I have heard the rumors, are they true? Is he coming here? What am I going to do? Well, I guess I am going to keep rooting for my team and love them despite all....even Spurrier!!!!

Spurrier's jet just left Ocala on its way back to Columbia. He was recruiting QB John Brantley down there.

Sorry Bama fans but Spurrier will not be your next coach. I'm suprised you would stoop so low as to want him after how much you claimed you hated him when he was at Florida.

I don't want him, and I did hate him. Well, hate is a harsh word. I disliked him very much. At least I am honest about it.

Looking for the 4th coach since 2000 and the 9th since Bear Bryant. Bill Curry just said Alabama is insane because the definition of insanity is repeating mistakes, expecting different results. :shock:
