Thanks to all of you for thoughts. DD, I am sorry you are going through this as well. Now for a little background. I had RK (NOT LASIK) surgery done 7 years ago. Last year I noticed that my up close vision was starting to get bad. I knew it was going to at some point, RK does not correct up close vision loss. So, I got me some prescription reading glasses and did fine. Until about 6 months ago my distant vision started getting worse. I was so sad because I had worn glasses/contacts since I was 10 yrs old. I was so relieved to have the RK and not have to wear glasses or contacts. Well, little did I know that when you have RK (NOT LASIK), it can cause people to develop an astigmatism, which is what has happened to me. SOOOO......now I need glasses to see everything!!!! I am going to try to get used to them, but I am not sure I will. Like Miss Kitty, I have not walked a straight line since yesterday and the weirdest thing is I feel like I am 10 feet tall.

Whatever you do don't go to Dr. Googly-eyes  (Mullis) over in PC, he's blinded quite a few people.

The most recent story was of someone coming into the ER 2 days after surgery for headaches and they extracted a 2 inch needle from BEHIND the persons eye. :yikes:

a new way to get drunk without the hangover. Get yourself a pair of progressive glasses. I got mine yesterday. Man, it is going to take some time to get used to them. Does anyone else wear them? Any tricks to getting used to them faster? These old eye's ain't what they used to be. :sosad:

I thought this was about drinking. I was thinking that you had a SET of glasses :drink: that controlled the portion size or something... :dunno: :rotfl:

Darlene and dd, here's to Dramamine in your stockings. :rotfl: (sorry)

And THEN I was wondering what good it would do to put Dramamine in your pantyhose...:dunno: :funn: Kind of like putting Vicks Vaporub on the bottom of your feet?

You gulls are mighty strange...

KDW - I have had them for 6 mos - they are ok now - but I have gone back to using my reading glasses on the computer - couldn't see the whole screen with the progressives and it was just a pain to keep readjusting my head to see a portion of it. They are fine otherwise - I really wish I didn't have to wear glasses at all - went through 45 years without them - why now!!!!! I know old age!
