About NewsBusters.org

Welcome to NewsBusters, a project of the Media Research Center (MRC), the leader in documenting, exposing and neutralizing liberal media bias.

Well, there ya go. I'm heading back to the site- it was pretty entertaining! Where else can you find a source for a "Waterboarding Instructor" t-shirt?

Pretty similar to "Media Matters for America" which "is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media."

Media watch dog organizations like this play a very important role in monitoring the main street media. I enjoy the points raised by these an other organizations because I like to get all sides of the story. Some folks I suppose would prefer one sided news, which is unfortunate.

Gidget, you're really opening up a progressive can of worms by posting inoffensive tea partier protest signs like this. Search around on google images to find what your party's extremists have been painting on cardboard and carting around over the last ten years. ;-)

As an atheist I have to giggle when I see a sign that says "God only asks for 10%". God never asked for anything monetarily. In fact it has been proven over and over that tithing is a myth.

If you have any proof of these allegations, please post them otherwise shut the eff up.

Anybody who would defend what is coming from the teabaggers has lost credibility. Tim McVeigh would be right at home among them.

Same three stories, over and over and over again. The Lewis and Frank reports have already been pretty widly discredited, Lewis himself later recanted the story. In the Parkinson's thing, which I might point out was not a racial incident, the guy responsible apologized for what he did.

Your white washing a large grass roots movement based rumors and information planted by the other side.

Here's a little taste of what liberals have been dishing out toward some of the tea party supports -

They've been called Oreos, traitors and Uncle Toms, and are used to having to defend their values. Now black conservatives are really taking heat for their involvement in the mostly white tea party movement—and for having the audacity to oppose the policies of the nation's first black president.

"I've been told I hate myself. I've been called an Uncle Tom. I've been told I'm a spook at the door," said Timothy F. Johnson, chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, a group of black conservatives who support free market principles and limited government.

From the same article:

McGlowan believes the tea party movement has been unfairly portrayed as monolithically white, male and middle-aged, though she acknowledged blacks and Hispanics are a minority at most events.
Racist protest signs at some tea party rallies and recent reports by U.S. Reps. John Lewis, D-Ga., and Barney Frank, D-Mass., that tea partyers shouted racial and anti-gay slurs at them have raised allegations of racism in the tea party movement.
Black members of the movement say it is not inherently racist, and some question the reported slurs. "You would think?something that offensive?you would think someone got video of it," Bazar, the conservative blogger, said.

I don't think they are as bad as some are saying, but there is a big "scared a black man is president" contingent in there. And as has always happened during economic downturns, racism and xenophobia are more prevalent.

There is a large mainstream segment who really are involved because of concerns about our country, but the level of disinformation, hype, and wackos is drowning them out.

30A, your usage of the term "white washing" is incorrect. It means to cover up and gloss over flaws and failures. You're the one doing the white washing.

I think these in all fairness well represent the majority of those attending these rallies. It is right in line with some family of mine who did attend or would have liked to have attended.
