We will be arriving this Saturday. Definetly ready for the beach. We are a little disappointed about the June grass, but maybe it will thin out before the weekend. We can hope anyway. We are bringing my oldest son who is 19 and his girlfriend. Is there a good place (that they are allowed into at 19) that would have some good music and fun? Hoping for good weather. We used to live in Naples, Florida so we know summer brings afternoon storms. We can deal with those. Our son made the mistake of getting on weather.com and freaked out about the 60% chance of rain several days next week. Sometimes the ability to get too much info is not helpful. It will just be great to have sand between the toes! Hopefully my husband and son will catch some fish and we can grill some fresh fish. Capt Larry (Dead Fish) always puts them on the keepers.

Kentucky Girl, I will probably get my butt kicked for saying this, oh well here goes, he may have to drive to Panama City. There is Spinnakers and Club LaVela and I've forgotten the name of the beach club. (Too many years ago for me to remember). Sorry everyone, but he is 19. I guess it really depends on the type of music he likes and if he wants to drive to Panama City, but he will have funn if he stays in SoWal and goes to Pandoras on Tuesday night and goes to 331 on Thursday night. Have funn. You will be down there with the rest of the Kentucky crew. I'm envious. :sosad:

I think it is great advice. Those palaces of teen hedonism are a right of passage, kinda like the tassle on the rearview mirror when you graduated high school! He will get older and fall into the more sedate stuff in time.

DO YOU NEED RESERVATIONS FOR PANDORAS? I THINK THAT WHEN WE THERE LAST SPRING WE COULD NOT GET IN WITHOUT A RESERVATION?..:dunno: I MAY BE CONFUSING IT WITH ANOTHER PLACE, BUT I DON'T THINK SO?

What type of music do they play at Pandoras on Tuesday evenings?
I don't know, but according to another thread, the Waco Ramblers are playing. I would go on Tuesday night if I were you because that is when several of the SoWal posters are going to meet. :clap_1: As far as reservations, we have never had them but we go early and we haven't been to Florida in high season for several years and I really miss it. Something about all the excitment of summer vacation that just can't be beat. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for the dreaded October vacation.:lolabove:

Yes, until they get 21, they drive to PCB, cruise, go to Club LaVela (sp?), and many of the females flash for beads. Driving to PCB is what my daughter did in the 18-20 year-old stage. She met her boyfriend (and I think future husband) during Spring Break 2005 when she was just 20. They had stopped at a gas station while cruising PCB, noticed that both cars had Georgia Tech stickers, and realized that her sorority house was across the street from his frat house. Then the crowd ended up at our house in Seagrove (which became Animal House) to party.:pissed:Thankfully the pool guy woke them up at the crack of dawn, made them with their hangovers get the beer cans and Silly String out of the pool, and came back in an hour to clean the pool.:funn:

I laid down the law after that - no more using our house if they didn't respect it, and I personally drove down to inspect it on the last day of their visits. They behaved, so I restored privileges.

Now that she turned 21 in January (and her boyfriend is a GT graduate working in the ATL), they cook at the beach house, have a few drinks, and act like respectable adults.

Those stages of life really happen fast.

WaCo Ramblers is a beachgrass outfit. If you want to sit inside and have dinner you might want a res. But better to just go hang out at the bar out back and put your name in for a table if you like. They don't serve food at the outside bar. Inside they have a quiet dining room and a family dining room.
