Wasn't Lannie Grenier one also?

Yikes, I totally remembered it wrong ... Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood were both failed nominees for AG. Lani Gunier was a failed assistant AG nominee. Did Clinton have a Court nominee withdrawn? I can't find evidence that he did.

The disassembled Republican machine won't put up any fight on Sotomayor--sure go ahead and alienate ONE more minority group, the Hispanics--they''ll quickly be seen as the party of just the crusty, fat, white men.[/quote]

Well, racism is racism whether in reverse or forward. Don't digg any of it. Maybe she just boogers up what she means to say sometimes. And, that statement was a while back.

I don't think that saying your gender, ethnicity, and life experiences gives you a better perspective on some topics than others is racism.

We each experience/view things quite differently because of those factors.

I don't think it gives a better perspective, but does grant differing perspectives, however. And, it seems we are already finding this out among our politicians.

I think it is especially interesting when one reads what sheactually said:

and then reflect upon this interchange with Sup Court Justice Alito during his confirmation hearings:
